Russia

April 20, 2018

This card came from Natasha in Russia and she wrote a great comment on the back about her favourite film.  I have seen the film she describes, but it was years ago.  I didn't like the film at first, I probably should see it again as it has been years.  I love receiving cards with lots of conversation on the back!

She wrote:

Hello Helen!
My favorite film is "Withnail & I", a British grim comedy. It is one of the best films about friendship. this is a film that will never be tarnished by age, and neither is it limited by repeat viewings. To me it's one of the greatest comedies ever. It's intelligent and sad and genuinely laugh out loud funny. If you happen to watch it I hope you will like it.  Cheers, Natasha

A Thank You Card

April 19, 2018

Apologies for not blogging for a while.  These days I am not able to send out as many cards and I haven't had time to blog for a while.  I'll try and update a couple of times a week and see how that goes.

I received this interesting Thank You card from a person that I had sent a card to in March.  It was a lovely gesture for him to do this, and not a very common one.

He wrote that he was on a one day trip to Estonia and wishes me a nice spring.  Thank you Marcus!

Belarus

April 18, 2018

This card came from a girl in Belarus.  She wrote a cool note on the back and decorated the card a bit too.  It was a good one to receive.

She wrote,

Greetings from Belarus!

Dear Helen!
This card is from a 16-year-old girl who is really crazy about photography and playing the ukulele in her free time.

There's a station square on the card.  This place is sooooooooo beautiful!

i'm not a big fan of movies, but my favorite is "Leon". It's story tells about girl, who became an orphan (because her parents were killed) and her friend-serial killer, who saved her and helped to take revenge.

Have a nice day!

Germany

April 9, 2018

This great card came from Birte in Cologne.  She wrote a chatty note on the back and decorated the card as well, so it was fun to receive.

She wrote,

dear helen,
i admire you for living in a foreign land without perfect language skills.

My name is Birte, i'm nearly 40 and live with my husband and our 6 year old son in Cologne, my birthplace.  At the front of this card, you'll see our town hall where we got married. I've read, that you're in love with book. Me too! I was bookseller for 15 years.
All the best! Birte

Germany - Food

April 7, 2018

This great card came from Inga. She seems like a woman after my own heart!

She wrote,

"Hello Helen,
Kind regards from the South West of Germany.  This part is called Palatinate.
I like to bake cakes and cookies.  I especially like cakes with chocolate.
"Enjoy the little things.  They make life great."

Greetings
                  Inga"

I'm not a huge fan of Peanuts, but I like this stamp.  The gang seems to be quite popular everywhere!

Taiwan

April 6, 2018

This lovely card from Taiwan was sent by Pei. She wrote a short note and used a gorgeous stamp on her card.

She said,

Hi Helen,

I am Pei Han from Tainan, Taiwan.  I like to travel and special places of different countries. This shows Lungshan Temple in Taipei. :-)

Pei Han 31. 03. 2018

On the back it says," May the Gods hear my prayers, may the Gods bless all.
(Lungshan temple, Taipei.)

This is the gorgeous stamp that Pei used on the card.  It's really interesting I think!

Netherlands - Movie Card

April 4, 2018

This great card came from Anjuly in the Netherlands. She wrote a friendly note on the back and talked about movies, so you know I'm happy!

She said,
"Hello Helen, have you seen this movie? It's about how Walt Disney got the rights to the Mary Poppins books.  It has some great moments for the Disney nerds, like me! Tom Hanks does a great job portraying Walt Disney. I hope you like it!
greetings,
Anjuly"

These interesting stamps feature cities in the Netherlands. Cool!
