New Zealand - View

April 28, 2026

Mike sent this nice card from New Zealand. He says this is the Mt. Cook region and shows their highest mountain.

Now, I have a confession. I got this card and instead of putting it on the stair like normal until I could go upstairs and register it, I put it in my pocket and started to prepare dinner. It got bent in my pocket. Ack! It travelled all the way from New Zealand in perfect condition and I'm the one who damaged it. I'm sorry!!

I liked the stamp that Mike used. I haven't seen this one before.

Thanks Mike!

Fie sent this beautiful card all the way from New Zealand.  She's another person who is a long way from home.

She writes, " Woaw, living in Japan, that's awesome.  I'm a Danish girl currently living in New Zealand.  I'm a dairy farmer, so it's up early every morning but I love watching the sun rise from behind the mountains :-D   Take care XX Fie"

NZ Series II: 1 of 4.  The four passenger De Havilland Fox Moth was used extensively by Air Travel (NZ) LTD.  This pioneering airline played an important part in servicing isolated areas of the West Coast of New Zealand in the 30's and early 40's

A Christmas stamp!  I also like seeing the airmail stickers.  I haven't seen any from Japan. I don't know if they use them here.

New Zealand

Rosheen sent this card from New Zealand.  She was a little surprised by my story.  She writes,"Wow - an ex-pat Canadian living in Japan - what an interesting life!  I hope you like this 'movie' card - I bought it in Honolulu earlier this year.  'Kia Ora' from New Zealand."

She sends her best wishes.

Paradise Hawaiian Style
Grossed $2.5 million, which was 1/2 million over the cost of $2,000,000.
Elvis played Rick Richards and his co-star Suzanna Leigh played Judy Hudson (Friday).
The soundtrack LP "Paradise Hawaiian Style" did reach #15 on the album charts.
This is an interesting Christmassy stamp!  It's interesting finding that on a card in September, but also quite cool.

Thanks Rosheen!

John sent this beautiful card from New Zealand.  He wrote this short message," Greetings from N.Z.! I thought this sure might be interesting.  It is of my local mountain.  The stamp is of the same location as the postcard.  Best wishes!"

Mt. Taranaki (2518m) and the Pouakai Range, Taranaki, New Zealand

Sadly the stamp cancellation got a bit smeared in transit, but it is possible to see that it is almost the same view on it as on the card.

New Zealand

February 25, 2014

For some reason, New Zealand isn't a common Postcrossing Country.  I've only sent one card there, and this is the one card I have received from that country so far.  It's rather cute!

The back of this card reads, "Meow, I'm a cat, I am forced to share my life with a FAT DOG who wants TO EAT ME!  RUN!

I love the bees on the stamp.  New Zealand is quite famous for honey so it makes sense.

Thanks for visiting!  See you tomorrow.
