This lovely card came to me from Poland.  Mariola wrote something nice and friendly on the back and all in all, it was a lovely card to receive.

She wrote,

This great card came to me with a great discussion of movies on the back, lovely stamps and was almost a perfect card for me.  I'm not a fan of Taxi Driver, although I do know how influential the film was and is.  However, I'm always there for another movie fan!

I like a lot of different films and it would be difficult to point to my favourite. Sometimes the subject moves me, ("Into the Wild"), sometimes music ("Three Colours: Blue") or actors ("The Graduate") or atmosphere ("Blade Runner"). I really like artistic film posters however - I am sending you a postcard with one work of Polish School of Posters. The original poster can be bought for $1000!

This card came to me from Poland.  It was sent by a young person who did a little artwork on the back of the card and wrote a friendly note too.  One unusual thing about this card is that there was no stamp on it.  I'm not sure if it is a pre-paid card like the ones we can buy in Canada or if the stamp fell off in transit, or if they were so young that they didn't know they needed to put a stamp on the card.  Mysterious!

She wrote,

My name is Karoline and I'm 8 years old. I go to primary school.

This cool card came to me from Poland and was sent by Joanna.  She sent a some information about her city too, which was interesting for me as I didn't know anything about it.

She wrote,

Greetings from Poland.
If you go to Torun you can eat traditional Polish gingerbread. It has been produced since the Middle Ages. The medieval part of Tokun was designated a UNESCO and it is a city of astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.

This lovely Ladybird cover postcard came to me from Marysia in Poland.  She wrote a friendly note on the back and used a huge, gorgeous stamp too.  I'm a lucky postcrosser!!

She wrote,

I'm Marysia, I live in Władysławowo, a small town near the Baltic Sea, in Poland. 

In my free time I like to read books and listened to music.  Currently I'm reading 'The Graveyard Book' by Neil Gaiman.

I had a few Ladybird books when I was young, but I didn't have this one either.

This stamp is amazing!  A little Google-fu tells me that this is a sturgeon, but apart from that, I don't know a lot about it. Very cool stamp.

This great card came to me from Ula in Poland.  She wrote a friendly note on the back and used a couple of gorgeous floral stamps.

Here's what she said,

I have never made carrot cake...I like it, but often find the icing to be too sweet for me.  I do like this card and the recipe does look doable.

Aren't these flowers pretty?  I think so!

This card came from Alan, he's a photographer and made the card that he sent.  He wrote a lot on the back of his card, which was nice to see.

He wrote, "I am Alan and live in Poland.  I'm a student and learning in high school.  I love learn to german language, culture and all about Germany.  I like photographing too.  Many people ask me "where I bought the camera" or "what is the model." So I answer "this is only cellphone and this view on the photo makes it wonderful." So I watch no films, maybe one per month.  I love to go out and meet with friends :D  It's very important for me. This card shows some photos from Poland.  This card I created on my PC. So this card is my first to Japan =D I am so happy :-) So...How are you? What is the weather in Japan.  Now in Poland it's 15℃. So I wish you a good day and I wish you Happy Postcrossing!  ~ Alan

This is quite a beautiful stamp.  To me it looks a bit like a Ukrainian Easter Egg, but I honestly don't know what it represents.

I received a card from Poland recently and while the front is interesting, the back has notes written in colour, masking tape and doodles so it is quite cool.  Unfortunately, I can't really show it but I'll try and write what Ania wrote for you to read.  Imagine the colour!

"Hi, I'm Ania and live in north Poland.  I love travelling.

It's my dream to travel. (Here she has drawn a map of the world with a place she'd like to visit, Kiribati.)

This delicious card came all the way from Poland. Olivia sent it to me...and I would love to have some!

She wrote,"Warm greetings from Warsaw, the capital city of Poland! This is an Easter cake for you.  I'm Olivia, 23, I've been living in Warsaw for 4 years.  I'm sooo happy because next week I'm going on vacation, I'm going to visit Berlin and travel across Belgium.  Happy Postcrossing! :-)"

I love the idea of cheese on a stamp!  This looks very good.  Anyone know this cheese?

This card arrived in an envelope recently.  There are gorgeous stamps all over the envelope.  Sadly, the message on the back of the card was typed but it was friendly.

Urszula wrote, " Hi!  My name is Urszula.  I am 59 years.  I live in Ilawa - Is a beautiful city in the northern part Polish.  Ilawa lies over lake Jeziorak-the longest lake in Poland.  Greetings from Polish - Urszula"

Natalia sent this great card to me a few weeks ago.  She writes that the photo shows the Old Masych from Poznan the city where she's studying.  He's a symbolic and legendary character of a typical Poznan citizen.  She sees him almost everyday as he's placed near her faculty.

She wishes she could visit Japan one day as the culture somehow fascinates her and she's so curious what the life there is like.  Well, good luck to her!

She recently watched the great film 'The Judge' (2015) with the most handsome Robert Downey Jr.  It's awesome and totally worth recommendation.

Jola sent this card to me from Poland.  She was pleased to be able to send this card to me.  She wrote a long chatty note on the back for me.  Sadly, time is short tonight so I'm not able to paraphrase her message.   I'll just pick out a few things she said.  She loves travel and books.  She dreams about traveling to Japan because it is a beautiful country.  She closes with her greetings.

Wojtek sent this cool card from Poland complete with gorgeous stamps.  He writes that he hopes I am doing great. He says that he lives and works in a big city in Poland.

He tells me that this postcard was issued this year by The National Museum in Krakow on the occasion of the exhibition devoted to Stanley Kubrick.

He continues in writing about the stamps on the postcard, "They belong to the series called Roses in Polish Folk Embroidery."

He closes with his best wishes to me and my husband.

Julia sent this black and white postcard from Poland.  She writes that she is 17 years old.  This postcard shows part of her city in 1939-1944.  The big building is a guildhall.  She closes by saying that she hopes I will like this postcard.  I do!

She also decorated the back of the card with some drawings and flowers that are very sweet.  I didn't scan them though, just take my word for it!  This is also one of the largest cards I have ever received, it is about 17 x 24 cm...very large.  It has a couple of rips and dings, but arrived in surprisingly good condition.

Karolina sent this pretty card from Poland.  She writes that she comes from the capital, but now lives in a village near the city. She says that in this postcard we can see a part of a beautiful, small town in Southern Poland.

She doesn't have any favourite movies but she does have some favourite books, for example "Vanity Fair"(She really hates the movie with R. Witherspoon!) or "Wuthering Heights". She sends her best wishes!

I found this postcard in the mail box when I returned from Sendai on Sunday.  Unfortunately for me, the postcard was written entirely in Polish, so I'm afraid I can't read it! Wikipedia tells me that Ruda Śląska is a city in Southern Poland.

Thanks to the work of another Postcrosser, "L", I know what the postcard says!  She tells me,

The message is rather short and simple:

"Cordial greetings from Ruda Śląska from A, A, Ł, and T" 

So it seems that 4 people wanted to sign their name and wish you well :)

And on top is: "Saint Paul's church in Ruda Śląska".
