Gotochi Card - Tohoku 2017

2017 Tohoku Cards

A friend of mine bought these cards for me at her local main post office.  I had asked at my local main branch but they said they didn't have them and couldn't get them.  Methinks they couldn't be bothered to try!

I have already posted the card for Yamagata, so I didn't repost it here.

Russia

This lovely postcard arrived last month in the rain.  The back of the card is a bit smeary but is generally readable.

Hello from Saint-Petersburg! I hope you will like this postcard from your favourites. I worked for Sumitomo Corp. here in SPC and want to visit Japan since then.  But also I like Canada and it's[sic] landscapes!

Netherlands - Food

May 15, 2018

This card came to me at a good time. I was having a bad day and I really needed to receive a friendly card.  I instantly felt connected to the sender with her lovely note on the back of the card.

Dear Helen,
Greetings from The Netherlands,
I am originally from the UK & move here from Scotland.
I have family in Canada that I am just connecting with through
my research of the family tree.
The Dutch like this dish with sausage - I used to enjoy it too
before I became allergic to the peas!

I do the research as I was adopted so I used DNA to find my roots.
It is DNA Day today - Sascha Jane X

She made a comment about liquorice allsorts, even put a sticker with some on it on the back of the card.  I love this stamp! So cool.

She said, "English liquorice allsorts - the Dutch adore liquorice, salty & sweet

Poland

May 14, 2018

This card came to me from Poland.  It was sent by a young person who did a little artwork on the back of the card and wrote a friendly note too.  One unusual thing about this card is that there was no stamp on it.  I'm not sure if it is a pre-paid card like the ones we can buy in Canada or if the stamp fell off in transit, or if they were so young that they didn't know they needed to put a stamp on the card.  Mysterious!

She wrote,

My name is Karoline and I'm 8 years old. I go to primary school.
I like animals, even pigs. I like to climb, swim and cycle.

Germany

May 7, 2018

This card arrived just after Golden Week, the yearly week (or almost week) that closes most of Japan.  It was a lovely card to receive just when we were all getting back into the swing of things.

Kurt wrote a short but friendly note on the back.

Greetings from Bavaria, South Germany.  I'm living in a town near this castle.  the mountains belong to the Alps.
Happy Postcrossing!

I like the Snoopy stamp.  I'm not a huge fan of Charlie Brown and the Gang, but this stamp is cute!

Black & White Bond-Movie Card

May 2, 2018

This fabulous postcard came from Helen in Britain.  She wrote a great message on the back and the front of the card was terrific too, so I loved this Postcrossing!

She started out in the middle of speaking, so to speak!

OK we have a lot in common:- our names, our love of Daniel Craig as Bond (Thank God he's doing one more!), our language!
I've been saving this card for just the right person & it looks like that's you!
Strictly Ballroom is in my all-time Top 10, plus Apollo 13 or any Tom Hanks film (well, most)
Happy Postcrossing
Helen
