Finland

August 23, 2017

This nice card came to me from Kari in Finland. He used a couple of interesting stamps on the back, but rather unusually used a typewritten message glued to the card.  It is written in English and I assume Finnish.  I will put the English here.

He wrote,

"Hello Helen!
Greetings from beautiful town of
Hameenlinna!  It was founded 1639 by
Pietari Brahe nearby the Castle which
was built in early 1300th century.
World famous composer Jean Sibelius
(1865-1957) was born here in
Hameenlinna.

Have a nice day and Happy Postcrossing!
Best wishes, Kari"

I'm not personally a Moomin fan, but I do think this stamp is charming!
