Julie sent this card with Autumn greetings.  She mentions that this card is from the same set as one I have listed in my favourites so she hopes I like it. 😀
She says that she has just returned from a holiday in the mountains.  All the leaves were at their peak color-so amazing!  She really didn't want to come home.  Ha!  She hopes that I am having a wonderful time.  She closes by wishing me all the best.

Elena sent this long card to me recently with a lovely message on the back, some of which I'll let you know about!  She writes,
"This is the view of the heart of Minsk-Nemiga! It is summer time!  You know, we had a gold autumn, but today everything has changes!  it is raining, windy and a little bit sad!  But my wedding photos remind me warm and happy day on Sicily!  We had a wedding in Taornuna!"

She wrote some lovely things about me and then continues about herself to say, " I like to travel a lot, but I always come back home.  How was it to you?  How did it even happen that you changed your place to live?!  I have some relatives and friends that moved to Canada!  Send you warm hugs!"

I never thought that much about moving to Japan honestly.  I've been moving around the world since I was very young, so it just seemed like the next progression.  I didn't plan to move here forever, that part just happened when I got married!

This was the gorgeous stamp she used and a small example of how she decorated the back of the card.  I love it to be honest!  The little cat...the head is a puffy sticker, but the body and umbrella are hand drawn.  So cute.  I never decorate the backs of my cards...I mean to, but I write too much!

Mikhail sent this card from Russia to me.  He writes,"This postcard shows one of types of the Republic of Karelia.  This year I have been there for hunting and fishing.  It is a beautiful and little  touched by civilization edge.  Water bodies are rich in fish, in the woods a lot of berries and mushrooms and are enough fair games...Best wishes!  Happy Postcrossing.

"Hello!  My name is Polina.  I write fairy tales and love movies with the same theme. For example, Enchanted and Penelope.  I also love Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell, so Pride & Prejudice, Cranford, North and South, Persuasion are also in my collection.  Have a good day!"

I am a huge fan of Jane Austen. I haven't read Elizabeth Gaskell, but I have read a learner version of Cranford and enjoyed it.  I also like fairy tales and movies from them.

This card came to me from Ines in Germany with a complaint.  Read on!

She writes,"Hi, Greetings from the northern part of Germany, a small town near Bremen."

"I am upset about your wishes which postcard you like and which not, I think thats not the meaning of postcrossing. "

"Keep well, Ines"

I ask on my profile that people not send me cat, dog, or children on their postcards.  Like many people, I have a list of favourite types of cards, but I do list that I am quite happy with a card of something that the sender likes, if they explain why they like it.  I'm more interested in the contact with other people, and I don't like it when people just sign their card with "Happy Postcrossing" and nothing personal about themselves.  I communicated these thoughts to Ines when I thanked her for her card.

We are all open to our own ideas.  I don't like it when people send the same card to everyone, or when they send me a slip of label paper with a self printed picture on it.  You just have to get past it!  Most people send great cards.  

I also like it when people have detailed profiles with what they like and don't like.  I try to make people happy with the cards I send, so I want to send them something they like.

Warm greetings come from Moscow, Russia with this card.  Tanya sent this card, she writes that she is 24 years old.  She likes my story about staying in Japan, and says it is amazing how love can connect 2 people from different hemispheres and cultures.  About herself, she writes that she loves travelling, her biggest love is Spain as well as the Spanish language. She hopes to live in Spain one day.  She closes with her best wishes and happy postcrossing.

Jan sent this cool card from the Netherlands.  He writes that the farmers in his village are wearing the well known Dutch Klompen (wooden shoes) at work.  He bids me enjoy my days.

MaryAnn send this card and writes that she's 48 years old.  She was born in the southwest of Holland and she moved to the Northeast.  She says it is only 300km, but life's different already!  There is a Zoo in the town centre that is really great. Paul sent this card to me from Germany.  He wrote,"I'm sending you greetings from the German capital.  I'm married, work in a big office and I like books, dogs, listening to good music and movies. Marlene Dietrich is one of my favourite actresses.  The Blue Angel is one of my favourite movies.  American Hustle and Silver Linings were the movies that I watched in the cinema the last time!" Juha wrote that she sent me a couple of books, and that she's sorry she didn't find any better card.  She hopes I like it, she bought it in Estonia about 10 years ago.  She writes that she's 63 and is working as a system analyst.  Her favourite movie is also Casablanca!  She likes reading and she has too many books at home.  She is married with one 33 year old daughter.  She has four cats, two of which are Siamese and two are Shorthairs.  She bids me take care!

Saija sent this very nice card from Finland.  She writes that she has many favourite movies, for example; V for Vendetta, Kingdom of Heaven, Star Wars movies. She also likes movies that are based on true stories, for example Che the Argentine and Che the Guerilla.

It's hard to explain how pretty this card is, there is a lovely second printing on the front of the card that appears when you tilt the card.  On this scan, you can just see some of the outline of it on the upper left hand side, and perhaps near the red Kivi.

Netherlands

Yvette sent this great card from the Netherlands.  She writes that is is a card from her island, Texel.  She lives in a small village on the island which has a population of 450 people.   She says that she hopes I like this lighthouse card.  She likes lighthouses a lot.  She closes with her greetings!

Germany

Kerstin sent this card from Oldenburg.  She writes that it is a beautiful little big town with 162,000 inhabitants in the north of Germany.  She had just finished her work and in a few minutes was going to the place we see on the card.  She said that behind the castle are some nice cafes.  She'll meet some friends, drink coffee and eat a tasty cupcake!

On the back, she put a couple of stickers of a cup of coffee and a cupcake and a messages saying that they are for me!

She writes in German "Ich wünsche Dir alles Gute!  (I wish you the best) Greetings from Germany.

I love finding out that she was on her way out for coffee and a cupcake.  That is great, and it makes the card seem so much more personal knowing that soon after she writes, she'll be at the place in the card.  

This Grimm stamp is great.  Sadly it was torn when it arrived.  I think this postcard had a bit of a tough journey.

Germany - Movie Card

Nico sent this card from Germany.   He writes," Hello!  Many greetings from Germany is sending you Nico.  You wished movie postcards.  That's why I send you this card of a famous German movie.  It's sooooooooo funny :) " He closes with his greetings.

When I thanked Nico, I thanked him for the card but told him that in Canada the gesture the man is making is extremely rude.  I told him that I hoped he was sending the card to be funny and not to be rude!

With the stamps, I wasn't able to scan all the stamps, but the missing one was one of the flower series with a tulip in it.  It's a standard stamp I think.
