Belgium

January 12, 2016

This card came from Belgium, but shows a scene in Montenegro. The sender was friendly, but didn't say too much.

He wrote," Hello!  Picture from our last holidays.  GiLBERT"

Looks like a beautiful place, but it isn't Belgium!

Belgium - Books

December 22, 2015

Emma sent this bookish card from Belgium with a nice note on the back.

She wrote, " Nov 14th 18°C rain
Hi Helen :-)
As you like cards with books (me too!) I thought you'd enjoy this one.  I find it very pretty.  It's hard to name only ONE favourite movie...I guess I'd go with LA Confidential, maybe.  Take care & Happy Postcrossing! Emma"

These are quite amazing stamps.  I haven't had that many really interesting stamps from Belgium, so I was glad to see these ones!

Belgium

After a little break where I didn't receive any postcrossing cards, I finally get one!  Yay.  Here it is.

Lucille writes, "Hello, I'm Lucille and live in a very small village near Brussels our Capital.  Happy postcrossing.  Lucille

Belgium - Black and White Actress Card

September 5, 2015

Brussels, 25th Aug. 2015
I visited Japan twice and I'd give anything to live there for a while.  I speak some Japanese, I studied the language for 2 years.  Now my ex-teacher is a friend.  I love haikus and onsen.  Best wishes ( I can't read the signature!)

This is a great card.  Every time I think I've seen all of the Marilyn cards out there, I see a new one!  I like this one a lot.

Marilyn Monroe
 A very beautiful stamp!

Belgium

June 25, 2015

This unusual card was sent by Bruno in Belgium.  I was  pleased to receive it as I liked the rock band Poison quite a bit.  However, afterwards I saw that many people on his list had received this card.  I still like it, but feel a little sad that so many people received it.

Anyway, Bruno did write a nice message on the back of the card.  He said, "I'm Bruno, 28 years old from Belgium and I'm thrilled to send you this vintage 80's music postcard.  I'd like to visit Japan one day and open a bonzai store.  I'm boring in Belgium.  Too much a**holes and selfish people.  I wish you a great life in Japan.  Love Bruno  CARPE DIEM"

I really love these stamps.  They are gorgeous.  I'm not a bug fan, but I like them!

Belgium - Books

May 30, 2015

Ria sent this great card to me.  She had a lovely chatty message, she said, "Nice to meet you! I'm 65, female, wife, 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.

The stamp is a photo of our king Filip.

I live in L____, a little city with an old historical centre: very nice.

I love reading, walking and I make patchwork.  Enjoy life!  Many hugs from Ria."

Two from Belgium

March 24, 2015

Belgium is a fairly rare country.  In almost 4 years, I've only received 7 cards from that country.  On March 24th, I received two! Quite an odd occurrence.

****
The first card comes from Turkey, but the sender sent it from Belgium.  Inge writes," Hello!  I send you this very (1976) old card from Antwerp, Belgium.  I like it because we made a very nice trip to Istanbul and we were deeply impressed by this mosque.  I hope you like it.  Best Wishes, Inge"

I do appreciate  Inge explaining why she sent it to me.  It is a beautiful picture and the fact that she kept it for a long time makes it quite special.

Istanbul
The Mosque of Soliman the Magnificent and the Golden Horn

Inge decorated the back of the card and also put this interesting stamp on it.  I haven't seen this one before.
Thanks Inge!

Petra wrote a quick note on her card, " Hi there, Will go out for lunch later today and then go geocaching, treasure hunt by GPS.  Hope it will stay dry!  Petra

It is interesting to hear about someone's plans for the day, but there was no explanation about the card or why she chose it for me.

Alfred Hitchcock
This is a beautiful stamp.  I like to see other countries' Air Mail stickers too.

Belgium

February 28, 2014

Belgium is a country that I haven't received many cards from, but the stamps and postcards are great so far.

Raquel writes," I found this card among your favourites so I hope you like to receive it!? :-)  I love cinema too, but nowadays I go less.  [not sure] is not enough for every - [not sure]. :-(

The Artist
I loved this film.  It was so much fun.

I also love these stamps.  They are great.  The birds are gorgeous, and the ladybird is cute. Enjoy!

Belgium

January 20, 2014

I've now received a couple of cards from Belgium.  It's not a common European country though.

Els writes that she is in her mid 40's and wants to change her job.  She's studying for a teacher.  She will have to write an examination one hour after writing this card.  Exciting!

Deckchair Canute
I quite like this black and white card, even though I have no idea who he is!

I'm guessing this is the Belgian King.  Any ideas?

Belgium

November 25, 2013

Wendy wrote on the back of this very cool card, "Hello, How are you?  Good I hope.  I live in Gent, a nice and historical city in Belgium.  I hope you like the card! (Movie + black/white in one!)

Harrison Ford

I like the Christmassy stamp with the angel on it too.

Thanks!
