 I'm Back!

I'm tenatively back at Postcrossing again. I sent a couple of cards in November and have just received 3. However, I won't be blogging as much or in as much detail. I just don't have the time anymore. 

Still, my cards are nice and I'd like to show them off!

From Germany, Leonie sent this. She's a fairly new postcrosser. She decorated the card on the back too. It's cute.

Nina sent this from Finland with a gorgeous stamp and a sentiment that we can all get behind!

Finally, from Taiwan, Linn sent this card and wrote on the back about her holiday in China. The stamps were also quite interesting.

I'm back!  Sorry it's been such a long time, but things have been busy around here. Or at least it feels like it has been busy here.

I haven't been sending cards for a few months, but I have received a few that I haven't got around to logging. In interest of time, I'll probably post a few cards without transcribing all of the messages.

This first card since my long break came way back in June. It was sent by a 15 year old girl from Taiwan. She has seen Tremors, one of my favourite films too.  She wondered about Hollywood or movie channels in Japan, if they were in Japanese or English....both! 

Melody sent this card and wrote a long and friendly message! It's so long that I don't really have time to write it all out. It had another unusual thing about it, it came in the plastic envelope that postcards are usually sold in.  The card itself was stamped and cancelled, but it arrived here with the sleeve on!

And, here is the stamp she used. I think it is cute!

Taiwan - Movie Card

This card arrived back in June and was a nice surprise. I haven't seen the movie on the front however. It came from Penny in Taiwan. She wrote a lovely friendly note and used amazing stamps on the card.


She wrote,
Hello Helen,
I have been to Yamagata for 2 time, both of them are going to Zao, cause I want to see the Jyuhyo (Snow Monsters) with blue sky! And I saw it in second time trip! Lucky me.

[Mt. Zao in Yamagata-ken is famous for strange snow formations in winter. The snow covers the trees, but the strong winds carve the snow and it looks like snow monsters. I've never seen them as Zao is more than 2 hours away and the roads aren't great in winter!]

I don't know anything about this film, I've never seen it or even heard of it!

These stamps that Penny used are amazing. I am not sure which one I like most.

I received a bumper batch of 7 cards on September 25, so I will hopefully be able to blog them over the next couple of weeks.

This beautiful view came in the mail to me from Taipei from a person called Ann.  She wrote a nice friendly message on the back.

Rachel wrote a great note on the back of the card.  It was advice for what to eat when I visit Taiwan.  Too bad I didn't have her advice when we were in Taipei a few years ago!

She wrote;

Night market is a must go in Taiwan. You can try all kinds of small eats there. Beef noodle soup is also a must eat! Once you've tried it, you'll never forget it!

This is the kind of card that I love!  The sender found something that I would like, wrote a nice little note about their city and was friendly too.  She even used great stamps and had an excellent cancellation stamp used on my card.  Hurray!

She wrote,

If you come here for a visit, you shouldn't miss Pier Z Art Center, which consists of several old abandoned warehouses that have been converted into exhibition space and hosts plenty of exhibitions  throughout the year.  Hope you like this AD card of Movies. And welcome to Taiwan anytime!

This beautiful card came from Vivien in Taiwan, complete with gorgeous food stamps and an informative message.  Yay!

She wrote,

This cool card came from Taiwan to me.  It was sent by Yi-Wei and she wrote a very short and friendly note on the card.

She wrote,

"Hello! Greetings from Taiwan, my name is Yi-Wei. I'm glad to have opportunity to send card to you. I hope you enjoy it. Welcome to Taiwan! Yi-Wei."

I did see this film, but sadly I didn't really like it.  I thought the one with Brendan Fraser was much better.

This card came to me from Taiwan, with a short note from the sender.  She didn't even sign her name!

She wrote,
"Hi Helen:
This postcard is design by a famous bookstore in Taiwan.  This both include tea and books. Hope you like it."

It is a commercial card, but I don't mind those if they are on topics I like, and this one is.

It is a pity that the cancellation mark covers so much of the stamp. It is quite beautiful.

This card came to me from Yi Chieh from Taiwan.  She posed a few questions with her card and it was unusual enough to make me smile!

She wrote,

My name is Yi Chieh from the friendly neighborhood "Taiwan" LOL. Have you travel here yet?

I really enjoy visiting National Palace Museum where you can find lots of old stuffs there. Just like this card shows the comb used by someone who was a nobility. (I guess)

How did people use it with so many delications on it?? Wouldn't it very heavy? So confuse 😕?

Gorgeous stamps from Taiwan and a very neat piece of masking tape just below them.   There's a rubber stamp print on the card too, but I didn't show the design.

This interesting card came from a sender in Hong Kong.  I was a little confused at first, because the card comes from Taiwan, but these things happen.

Emilie used some really gorgeous bird stamps on my postcard.  They are quite beautiful. Remember, if you click on the pictures, you can see them bigger!  It is worth it for these stamps.  

Taiwan Double-Shot

Something really interesting happened with these particular cards...I believe they were both sent by the same person...they arrived the same day so I think the sender must have pulled my name twice (in two different accounts) on the same day.  I think it must have been a little sad for her to get the same person in Japan twice in one day!

I'll post them in the order that I registered them and you can see what you think. The cards are friendly enough and that makes me happy as you all know!
